What personal data we collect and why we collect it
To provide services to our clients, we must collect sufficient information to provide those services and collect payment for them. This includes any data we are obliged to keep for administrative, legal, or security purposes.
Web Site Data
When you access the FishNet web site, we collect and log the standard web server information of your IP address (which may be used to identify general geographical information regarding your country and possibly city) and browser type of your access.
If you fill out a form on the web site to contact us, we will collect the information you provide in the form, in addition to the web site data. That information is sent to us by email, which may be retained indefinitely to be able to respond to and/or provide service to you.
We preserve any contact information in offline systems and/or on a third party email service provider.
Customer Web Data
All web data you upload to your web site should be considered to be globally and publicly available, whether in a page or a database on your web site. Any privacy controls you place on any content are solely your responsibility to determine their effectiveness and maintain them.
If you upload images to the website, you should avoid uploading images with embedded location data (EXIF GPS) included. Visitors to the website can download and extract any location data from images on the website.
Email Filtering Services
If you use our email filtering services, either as a direct customer or as a customer of an affiliate, we collect and log the standard information logged by an email server; this includes the IP address of the sender and recipient, the sending and receiving email addresses, and other mail header information required to process and identify the mail. Apart from the standard information logged by the mail server software, we do not retain any mail information, including the email body and/or attachments, once the mail has been delivered to the recipient(s).
If you leave a comment on our site you may opt-in to saving your name, email address and website in cookies. These are for your convenience so that you do not have to fill in your details again when you leave another comment. These cookies will last for one year.
If you have an account and you log in to this site, we will set a temporary cookie to determine if your browser accepts cookies. This cookie contains no personal data and is discarded when you close your browser.
When you log in, we will also set up several cookies to save your login information and your screen display choices. Login cookies last for two days, and screen options cookies last for a year. If you select “Remember Me”, your login will persist for two weeks. If you log out of your account, the login cookies will be removed.
Embedded content from other websites
Articles on this site may include embedded content (e.g. videos, images, articles, etc.). Embedded content from other websites behaves in the exact same way as if the visitor has visited the other website.
We do not utilize outside traffic analysis services.
Who we share your data with
We only share your data with third parties to the minimum extent necessary to provide our services to you. We have not, do not, and will not sell your information in any form.
If you pay by credit card or bank transfer, the information necessary to carry out those transactions may be shared with our bank and/or a third party processor. If we provide you with email services, your information necessary to provide those services will be shared with a third party email provider.
If you choose to share a post on this site to a social media provider, the information necessary to complete that transaction will be sent to the provider.
How long we retain your data
For users that register on our website (if any), we also store the personal information they provide in their user profile. All users can see, edit, or delete their personal information at any time (except they cannot change their username). Website administrators can also see and edit that information.
What rights you have over your data
If you have an account on this site, or have left comments, you can request to receive an exported file of the personal data we hold about you, including any data you have provided to us. You can also request that we erase any personal data we hold about you. This does not include any data we are obliged to keep for administrative, legal, or security purposes.
Where we send your data
We utilize third party accounting services that require your personal information to administer the services we provide you.
Payment information you provide will be sent to third parties for processing. Credit card information is processed in a way that the card never passes through the web server. If you provide payment information by telephone, we will retain no credit card numbers or CVV2 information. If you give us your permission to store the card number for future payments, we will enter it in a third party clearing server that will securely retain it such that we can only see the last four digits for card identification purposes.
We may store your personal information in third party provided cloud services that are closed to uncontrolled access.
How we protect your data
We use a variety of security processes on the systems that process your data to ensure against rootkits and known viruses, and we have controls in place to temporarily block addresses that exceed a low threshold of excessive login attempts or other abusive traffic. All connections to the web site are secure; any insecure connections to the web site are immediately forced to a secure connection. Offline servers are in a secure environment.
